Selecting the Proper Vanity Lighting

Lighting is constantly changing when it comes to styles and trends, however one thing that will never change is the need for a well lit bathroom!

Vanity lighting is especially important in bathrooms where you and those in the home will be getting ready for the day or night. You must ensure you have ample light for daily activities such as applying makeup or shaving.

When possible, we recommend that wall sconces be placed on either side of your mirror. As a rule of thumb, it is ideal to place the fixtures approx. 28" apart, and about 60" from the floor.

This is good to keep in mind when selecting the size of your vanity, placement of sink, and style of mirror. Sometimes, you may need two mirrors over a double sink to get your desired look, so you could opt for three wall sconces: one in between the two mirrors, and one on the outside of both mirrors.

Alternatively, people are using unique lighting options such as hanging pendants on either side of the mirror. This is great for an updated style, and is an ideal solution if you don't have the space on your wall for fixtures or if your mirror is oversize.
