The days are starting to get shorter, which makes for early evening dinners, brisk walks at sunset, and cozy bonfires. One thing we always have to keep in mind when thinking about our outdoor areas is safety.
There are many ways we can enhance the safety of our outdoor living spaces, and one of the main ways is by having your space adequately lit.
In one of our past tips, we talked about layering your lighting. That applies to outside of your home as well! For safety and aesthetics, consider having a mix of wall or hanging fixtures around your front door and other entrances and exits, recessed lighting in your eaves, lighting around your garage, and posts at the entrance to your driveway. Couple this with landscape lighting on pathways, stairs, decks, and to highlight trees, shrubs, and brick detailing on your home.
There are so many unique outdoor lighting options available now. Outdoor chandeliers and fans are great for over outdoor dining or entertaining areas, and these are available in a variety of sizes and styles.
When planning your outdoor living areas, keep safety and function top of mind!
